Addicting New Music

If you’re a fan of acoustic, good-feeling music, like me, look up the band Dispatch!

I heard The General somewhere before, not knowing what it was. The album Bang Bang is great! I can’t stop listening to it.

Their sound reminds me a little of Flobots, because of the quick-talking, barely singing verses intermixed in the song. Pete Francis’ (lead singer of Dispatch) voice also sounds the teeniest bit like Bradley Nowell to me…I love the guitar too.

“I have seen the others, and I have discovered that this fight is not worth fighting” is a great line from The General.

I am ecstatic to see them play at Outside Lands!

Outside Lands

You may have heard of Outside Lands, a large music festival that will be hosted in San Francisco in August.

My friend just called and told me about it a few weeks ago, and I am so very excited to go!

As far as the lineup goes, it looks awesome! There is definitely a variety, which I like. They are going to have bands from Metallica to Norah Jones to Reberlution.

I have to say that I am most excited to see Neil Young, Beck, Norah Jones, Bloc Party, Rebelution, and City and Colour. I don’t know the last half of the list…but I’m sure I will find some great new Alternative bands!

Seeing as I have only been to two concerts; Sublime with Rome and Mike Pinto with Iration and Seedless, I definitely need to make up for my years of missing out!

I can’t wait to meet up with my best friend in San Fran and enjoy great company and music!

Audrey Hepburn: A Role Model

Image

An actress that everyone should know is Audrey Hepburn!

I saw Breakfast at Tiffany’s for the first time in middle school and fell IN LOVE. I can’t put my finger on exactly what it is about Audrey Hepburn that makes me love her so much, but she is just such a classy, beautiful woman! I can watch Breakfast at Tiffany’s over and over again, and it make me happy every time. Her on-set love with George Peppard makes me feel so hopelessly romantic every time!

My favorite scene is when Paul yells at Holly in the taxi cab because she won’t admit that she loves him. He tells her, “okay, life’s a fact, people do fall in love, people do belong to each other, because that’s the only chance anybody’s got for real happiness.” You call yourself a free spirit, a “wild thing,” and you’re terrified somebody’s gonna stick you in a cage. Well baby, you’re already in that cage. You built it yourself. And it’s not bounded in the west by Tulip, Texas, or in the east by Somali-land. It’s wherever you go. Because no matter where you run, you just end up running into yourself.”

Another thing I love about Audrey Hepburn is her style! I wish that people dressed in 60’s couture today.
